Understanding the numbers
← Back to full FAQWhat do weather forecast symbols and icons mean?
Each icon represents a general weather condition: a sun is clear skies, a cloud is overcast, a cloud with rain is precipitation, a cloud with lightning is a thunderstorm, a snowflake is snow, etc. However, icons are simplified — one icon can't show whether rain is 10% of the day or 90% of the day. Always check the hourly forecast, precipitation probability, and wind data alongside the icon. A "rain" icon could mean a brief shower or all-day steady rain depending on the details. Icons are useful for a quick glance, but for planning, read the full forecast data.
