Weather measurements

What is dew point and why does WeatherPerch show it?

Dew point is the temperature at which air would become saturated with water vapor if it were cooled sufficiently. It is a useful measure of the actual amount of moisture in the air and can sometimes provide a better indication of how humid conditions will feel than relative humidity alone. WeatherPerch includes dew point among its detailed current-condition measurements. A higher dew point generally indicates more moisture in the air, while a lower dew point indicates drier air. Dew point can be useful when assessing comfort, potential fog, overnight condensation, and changing weather conditions. When combined with temperature and humidity, it provides additional context about the atmosphere beyond what a basic temperature reading can tell you.
