WeatherPerch report · from our own Search Console data
What language does the world search weather in?
WeatherPerch serves weather pages in 15 languages. This report breaks down our own real search-query data by the language people actually searched in — 19,707 non-English impressions out of 74,530 total, from the 2026-09-21 data window. This is telemetry from our own property, not a public survey — nobody outside Search Console access to this domain can produce this breakdown.

One real finding this data surfaced
German-language searches for Tel Aviv and Santorini weather ("wetter tel aviv," "sonnenuntergang santorini heute") are landing on WeatherPerch's English pages instead of the German ones. The German pages exist and render correctly — they're currently excluded from the sitemap and marked noindex because Israel and Greece sit in a lower ad-monetization tier in our indexing policy, a tier decision made independently of actual search-language demand. It's a genuine finding from this data, not a hypothetical.
Methodology and honest limits
- Language is inferred from the query text (Unicode script, or a small weather-vocabulary keyword match for Latin-script languages) — Search Console has no language field on a query row. A query that matches nothing is treated as English by default, which means "no other-language signal found," not "confirmed English."
- Search Console suppresses very low-volume/rare queries into an aggregate "(other)" bucket this data never sees — this index is directional over the queries Search Console surfaced, not an exhaustive count of global weather searches.
- Bare CJK-ideograph queries with no kana are reported as "Chinese or Japanese (ambiguous)" rather than guessed into either language.
- A landing-locale mismatch means a query in that language landed on a page NOT under that language's own URL prefix (e.g. a German query landing on the English page). That reflects a real content/indexing gap, not measurement noise.
